Small Grants Project Chongqing 3D SDI in China - Update Report

The Chongqing Survey Institute received a cash award from the GSDI Small Grants Program in July for a project titled "Improving the Communication Channels of the Chongqing 3D SDI in China". The project progress report from October 2017 has been received and the final project report is to follow in April 2018. Indonesian Spatial Data Training Project to Support Local Forest Communities

The GSDI Small Grants Program provided co-funding to ELSAKA (Lembaga Studi dan Advokasi Kebijakan - Center for Study and Policy Advocacy) for SDI training to help forest communities in 25 districts in North Sumatra apply for management permission relating to their areas.

SDI to Support Sustainable Energy Planning in West Africa

The GSDI Small Grants Program part-funded a project to map the operational CEMGs projects in ECOWAS region and publish them on the ECOWREX SDI platform, thus contributing to offer open spatial data on operational CEMG (ECOWAS Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE)) that prove to be of high interest for project developers on rural electrification in West Africa.

SDI Cookbook published in Mongolian

In November 2017, the Mongolian Geospatial Association published a full translation into Mongolian of the 2012 edition of the GSDI's SDI Cookbook, funded by the GSDI Small Grants Program.

2015 Small Grants Awards

Since its launch in 2003, the GSDI Association's Small Grants Program has supported more than 105 projects around the world. Support in 2015 for the program comes from a partnership between the GSDI Association, the U.S. Federal Geographic Data Committee, Canada’s national GeoConnections initiative lead by Natural Resources Canada, and the GISCorps of URISA.
