OGC Big Geo Data White Paper made public

The OGC "Big Geo Data" white paper is now public at http://docs.opengeospatial.org/wp/16-131r2/16-131r2.html. Sections 4 and 5 lists ideas OGC Members suggested for future work to advance the big data in OGC. Several of the ideas are already advancing in the BD DWG. I am game to work with Members who want to advance the other ideas.

OGC approves Community Standard for streaming 3D Content

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) has approved a new 3D standard for content strategy. This standard is focused on high performance visualization and spatial analysis in a services or disconnected environment. The standard is referred to as the OGC Indexed 3D Scene Layer (I3S) and the Scene Layer Package Format (SLPK) Specification.

OGC seeks sponsors for its Underground Infrastructure Pilot Project, releases Underground Infrastructure Concept Study Engineering Report

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC®) is calling for sponsors of a pilot project that will implement and demonstrate the sharing of information concerning underground infrastructure. The Pilot will implement sponsor requirements based on the findings of OGC’s Underground Infrastructure Concept Study, of which the summary Engineering Report is now available.
