Membership fees for Organisational Members depend upon the type of organisation and where it is located in the world within the World Bank's ranking of economies, plus income for commercial firms. Individual Members have two fee categories - one for professionals and one for students. Individual Members from low and lower middle income countries (World Bank ranking) can join the Association for free on application.
GSDI Organisational Members have one official representative Delegate on the GSDI Council, which is the ultimate decision-making body of the Association. They can also name a Deputy Delegate to attend meetings when the official Delegate is unavailable. Each Organisational Member has one vote on matters that require a vote of Council. The eleven GSDI Board of Directors members are also chosen from the Delegates of the Councl and serve on the Board for a three-year period.
